I Michael Andrews, started musical training at age 10 on the island of Jamaica under the British system. Then progressed at a very rapid pace and by age 11 was already playing for churches. At age 13, I was featured on radio and live concerts in the surrounding area. At age 16, I performed and accompanied several choirs and soloists including the world renown baritone singer, Wintley Phipps, as he was making several appearances with the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Operation Push. Two years later, I began to compose music and arrange for voices and instruments. In 1981, I served as accompanist for an award-winning choir who was sponsored on 11-day tour of Romania as Goodwill Ambassadors for the United States. At age 22, in the ensuing years, I moved to Central California where I continued to perform and work on my Masters degree at Fresno State University. Over the course of the next 10 years, I have played for many churches and was in demand as an accompanist and performer in the Central California region.
I have been recording, and performing with the IIW ministry ever since. I have been featured on3ABN, Hope Channel and a variety of other broadcasts during my illustrious career. I am commonly seen in concert along with Charles Haugabrooks - an internationally known tenor soloist and recording artist. I have just recently released my first CD Arabesque of Hope, an exquisite and highly
diverse collection of beautiful piano arrangements with vocal and orchestral embellishments. I am Michael Andrews.
