Michael Andrews & His Piano

Biography

Pianist, composer, and arranger Michael Andrews began his musical training at age ten in Jamaica, studying under the British system.

By eleven, he was playing for churches. At thirteen, he was featured on radio and in local concerts. At sixteen, he accompanied choirs and soloists, including baritone Wintley Phipps. He began composing and arranging for voices and instruments two years later.

A life of accompaniment.

In 1981, Michael served as accompanist for an award-winning choir on an eleven-day tour of Romania as goodwill ambassadors for the United States. His musical path later took him to Central California, where he performed, accompanied churches, and pursued graduate studies at Fresno State University.
